Celebrating Positive Behavior

Each month, as a part of its Positive Behavior Interventions and Support program, Chocowinity Middle School holds a drawing from all of the students who have not received a discipline report for the month.  One student from each grade level is chosen and wins a prize. 



Winners for the combined months of February and March were Destiny Whitehead, fifth grade, Sion Kinlaw, sixth grade, Makayla Daniels, seventh grade, and Paul Radford, eighth grade.


CMS Recognizes Students for Good Judgment

As a part of Beaufort County Schools Character Education program, Chocowinity Middle School nominated students during the month of Aprilfor the character trait of Good Judgment .   Students were treated to biscuits donated by Hardee's of Chocowinity and juice and given prize bags while each student's nomination was read by Principal Dale Cole. Winners for the month of April were Victoria Hernandez, D'Lasia Moore, Richard Shavender, Edna Thompson, Kirsten Ayers, and Devin Guzman. One winner for middle school and elementary school was chosen. Victoria Hernandez won from the middle school, and D'Lasia Moore won from the elementary school. D'Lasia was chosen at the district level as the winner out of all elementary nominations.

About Chocowinity Middle School

Located in Chocowinity, North Carolina, CMS serves over 450 fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth graders.  Students receive instruction based on the NC Standard Course of Study enhanced by extra-curricular activities including athletics and clubs.
